Robert Femminella & Chris Enright for AFA President/VP
"Power in Unity, Strength in Action"
Dear AFA Colleagues,
We are excited to announce our candidacy for President and Vice President of the Adjunct Faculty Association.
As adjunct faculty, we’ve faced real challenges — balancing our dedication to students with the need for fair pay, stability, and respect. Yet time and again, we’ve shown what collective strength can achieve. We believe our next chapter can be even stronger.
We're running because we want to build on the incredible work of the Executive Board and our members, and make sure every adjunct has a voice at the table. Together, we can continue to push for equitable contracts, transparent communication, and a union that represents the full diversity of our faculty.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be reaching out to hear your ideas, priorities, and hopes for the future of the AFA. We want this campaign — and our union — to be driven by the voices of those who make our classrooms thrive every day.
Let’s continue building a union that lifts us all. If elected, we promise the following:
- Fight for all of our members and their rights, especially when it comes to fair treatment and workplace protections
- Fostering collaboration by opening a productive dialogue with the other three unions on campus
- Increasing member engagement through more inclusive and relevant activities
- Modernize our website to better serve the needs of our adjuncts, including Discussion Boards where adjuncts can converse
- Restore fiscal responsibility by reducing unnecessary compensation and positions to keep a balanced budget
- Improving legal support by exploring options for a retainer-based attorney instead of paying hourly
- Review and update the dues structure to ensure it’s fair and sustainable
